Brooklyn Connections

PS 131/NEIGHBORHOOD HISTORY

This is the sixth year the fifth graders will be participating in a weekly program during their lunchtime with a school partnership program called “Brooklyn Connections,” which is an outreach arm of the Brooklyn Public Library’s Brooklyn Collection. The focus of the program is to research the school and neighborhood history and present the findings at a borough-wide convocation in May. This program is free and is facilitated by two teachers at the school, with six visits by Brooklyn Connections staff, as well as a research trip to the Brooklyn Collection archive.
